Client Bompas & Parr
I was asked by my long-term collaborators Bompas and Parr to help in the design phase of a bone-conducting audio spoon.  The spoon had to be able to deliver a piece of music through the spoon to the teeth whilst someone ate a specially designed bowl of Heinz Beanz.  This was achieved using a tactile transducer on mouthpiece, powered by a high output mp3 player in the handle of the spoon. I then wrote five short pieces to be played through the spoon to be listened to whilst eating.  The pieces bounced off of the flavours of the special edition Beanz. The challenge here was to make the pieces simple enough to travel through the relatively lo-fi apparatus, but also to have enough detail to be fun and entertain.  The spoon had a very particular EQ curve, so I had to tune the EQ of the tracks in a certain way and compress the music more than usual (Waves L1). https://www.prote.in/en/feed/2013/03/bompas-parr-beanz
