Electro-Tango / DeWolfe Music
My first library album, and the beginning of my work with DeWolfe Music.  It was my idea to pitch this album to them, and they liked what I suggested.  Due to a scarcity of Bandoneon players in London, I went to Paris to record the magnificent Victor Villena at the music conservertoire in Villete.  Victor played most of the difficult music in one take.  Engineering was my great friend Thibaud Guarinos who also fixed the studio. The bandoneon is a unique instrument, originally from Europe but popularised in Argentina through its use in tango.  The method is fairly complicated, as the notes played are different whether the bellows are pushing or pulling.  This was an amazing experience to get close to this music and draw inspiration from the energy of tango greats such as Osvaldo Pugliese and Astor Piazolla. http://www.dewolfemusic.com/search.php#!/?id=550025&code=1MEs6O
